Scientists & Researchers
Community of
Science The COS Expertise database has over 63,000 profiles of researchers and
scholars from over 200 leading research universities, government agencies, and R&D
organizations worldwide. Each record has the contact information, qualifications,
publications, patents, and funding sources.
Besides using this resource as a contact-finding aid, it can be used to identify
prospective collaborators, expand your R & D efforts, and locate new technology
licensing opportunities.
Hum-MolGen-
genetics white pages provide access to membership listings from a number of genetic
societies (ASHG), Stanford's Biologists' Database, and general directory service called
Four11.
Stanford University maintains the useful website called BioSci. One of their resources
is the Biologist's Address Database Archives- database
search. Here you can use Boolean logic to search keywords or phrases for names,
addresses, and research interests. A useful site if you are looking for someone with a
particular research expertise but have no known name
Research & Academic Sites
Similar listings of research and academic sites are found in BIO's and Bio Online
sites. They are arranged alphabetically and you can click on to these international
institutes for further information.

Government Contacts
The Internet is becoming a rich source for government data and contacts. There are many
links to government sites that provide useful information to the biotechnology
communities. These sites will be discussed in a future issue, but a good place to start is
at the Government Agencies section of
the BioTactics Reference Web.
